... or at least trying to to anyways. I've made Facebook page, a venue has been reserved and paid, and now I head out posting flyers to grab volunteers. I want to squeeze in a meeting before my b'day in December, because January will start the "crunch" time between now and mid-March.
Stick around for more news, as things move along.

Just night before last, I meet with a few friends over drinks at The Beauty Shop to raise a few bucks for the Young Survival Coalition (YSC). I shared with them that there isn't an affiliate anywhere thus far in TN and two women under 35 are survivors.
As we chatted on, one friend who is an attorney mentioned several civic-minded to contact in hopes for collaborating on bringing and making a new YSC branch to Memphis. I am quite excited on my women's work and how Privy will have a finger on just about any perspective on women's causes as they arrive.
In the meantime, another year's end is coming close. I have been tapped as a LunaFest director for 2010 year and my goal is to host in March 2010. I do have some time, it will be better to start a buzz about this now than later.

TODAY IS "LOVE YOUR BODY" DAY!!
My friends of NOW have a few suggestions:
http://loveyourbody.nowfoundation.org/whatyoucando.htmlALSO, October is national orgasm month,
domestic violence awareness, and the now traditional
breast cancer awareness month. Ladies to do our individual part for all this, here's a plan:
1. Perform your monthly Breast Self-Exam (BSE). Make a mental and on paper of any changes that were not there before and consult your doctor or women's clinic. If you will turn 40 this year (like I will this Dec.), "treat" yourself to your very 1st mammogram. If your results turn out ok, credit yourself for being one step closer to staying healthy. If your results leads to a confirmed cancer diagnosis, then "armor" yourself with all the mental and emotional weapons to KICK CANCER'S ASS!!!!!
2. Write letters to your local congress people and urge them to vote for the current legislation regarding breast cancer and domestic violence.
3. Make a homemade fruit salad (or other natural goodie) for your local women's shelter.
4. Take some quiet time for you and your sweetie and let "nature take her course". Need inspiration? Try something from JimmyJane, Booty Parlor, Kiki DeMontparnasse or Earth Erotics.
Privily with Love, XOXOXO
I am thinking, so I am planning:
1. Making a YSC affiliate for Memphis/Shelby Co.
2. Organizing a women's concert.
3. Securing a venue for LunaFest 2010.
4. Hosting a B'day/Christmas Party this year; Seek for The Old Path will be co-beneficiary.
MORE DETAILS AS THINGS PROGRESS.

Two can live cheaper than one. Many people get married on that basis. During the Depression, there was a popular song that said, "Potatoes are cheaper, tomatoes are cheaper, now's the time to fall in love." Many young people agreed with that and got married. But economics have changed. Yet, what happens when the going gets tough? Well according to an old euphemism, the tough typically get going.
Today potatoes are dearer, tomatoes are dearer, but still, now is the time to fall in love because you can combine your resources. Even the IRS recognizes the advantage of this by giving some tax breaks in that regard. Yet, why so many divorces? Why still too much human race divisions? God bless the child whose got his own...
While there are advantages in companionship, nevertheless, the argument is that still number one adds up to emptiness; it does not satisfy the sense of eternity that God has put in wo/men's hearts. Many a couple sit in loneliness, staring at a television screen for hours at a time, or seek some other diversion to fill the emptiness and misery of their lives. When shall...will...we overcome?
And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken (Ecclesiastes 4:12 KJV).

Women and Work: Bridging Women's Struggles Across Borders
You don't want to miss out on a great opportunity to hear from 4 amazing women struggling for justice in the workplace. What's it like to work in the banana plantations of Guatemala as a woman? What was it like to be the one of the first women sanitation workers in Memphis? What are the challenges that immigrant women workers face in the United States? How can all of us, men and women, support women's struggles for justice at work?
Our featured speaker will be Carmen Molina of Guatemala. Carmen is one of the first women to become a leader in her banana workers' union. Carmen will be joined by Memphis workers Brenda Shields, Cristina Condori, and Keri Brondo.

It isn't enough that Caster Semenya, is 18 years-old.
It isn't enough that she simply is naturally gifted to run.
It isn't enough that she is disciplined and dedicated.
It isn't enough that because of her age, discipline, and dedication she is simply approaching her zenith of her sport.
Let the IAAF know that her admirers and supporters are disgusted of their discriminatory behaviour. Sign the petition, and pass it on.
